National Immigration Project Listservs
The National Immigration Project moderates several immigration related listservs. The listservs provide a forum for our members to share facts, discuss important cases, post legal questions, and receive up-to-date information. A brief description of each listserv is summarized below. You must be subscribed to a listserv to post or receive messages. LISTSERVS facilitated, moderated, or supported by NIPNLG:
- National Immigration Project Membership Listserv:
An interactive discussion space for questions and issues pertaining to all aspects of immigration law casework. This listserv is exclusive to National Immigration Project Members. To post messages to this listserv, use Nationalimmigrationproject@yahoogroups.com.
- Criminal and Immigration Listserv:
A vibrant discussion of all issues pertaining to the intersection of immigration and criminal law. This listserv is exclusive to National Immigration Project Members. To post messages to this listserv, use Crimimm@yahoogroups.com.
- VAWA Updates Listserv:
Co-administered by the National Immigration Project and ASISTA, this is a non-interactive list that distributes timely updates on VAWA and other relief for immigrant survivors of domestic violence.
- HIV and Immigration Listserv:
A discussion listserv on the legal issues pertaining to immigration and HIV-positive noncitizens. To post messages to this listserv, use HIVimmigration@yahoogroups.com.
- Law Student Listserv:
This interactive forum is open to all students seeking to exchange information and ideas about immigrant rights advocacy and current developments in immigration law and policy. To post messages to this listserv, use Lawstudentforum@yahoogroups.com.
- Gangs and Immigration Listserv:
An interactive listserv that provides sample briefs, strategy ideas, and other resources to assist advocates working with clients who face deportation as a result of the Department of Homeland Security's policy of targeting suspected gang members. To post messages, use Gang-Imm@yahoogroups.com.
- U Visa Detention Listserv:
A discussion-based working group dedicated to the specific challenges facing immigrant victims of crimes locked up in detention, co-sponsored by NIPNLG, ASISTA, and Detention Watch Network (DWN). To subscribe, please send an email to: UvisaDetention-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
