Victims of Crimes: PartnershipsIn coalition with other key national organizations, the National Immigration Project advocates for greater access to legal options for noncitizen victims of crimes. The National Immigration Project is a member of the National Network to End Violence against Immigrant Women (NNEVIW), which seeks to eliminate all forms of oppression and discrimination against immigrant women facing violence by empowering them to build better lives for themselves. The National Immigration Project offers referrals to victims seeking assistance using the Network’s joint online database as well as our own attorney membership data. As part of its collaboration with NNEVIW, the National Immigration Project founded and co-administers, with its allies at ASISTA, two dynamic national listservs. Additionally, the National Immigration Project has partnered with ASISTA, Legal Assistance Foundation (LAF) of Chicago, and Detention Watch Network (DWN), to foster cross-mentoring among practitioners dedicated to the specific challenges facing immigrant victims of crimes who are locked up in detention.
